This role sits within the Finance Operations (FinOps) / Accounting function, with a clear progression pathway aligned to operational finance and controllership. The typical career trajectory for this position is: Finance Officer → Senior Finance Officer → Finance Controller, focusing on deepening expertise in accounting, financial controls, and operational finance, rather than Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).
Key areas of ownership:
- Preparing and issuing customer invoices accurately and on time
- Processing supplier invoices, payment requests, and finance documentation
- Owning and executing payment runs and maintaining accurate and complete payment records
- Reconciling bank accounts and finance transactions
- Maintaining accurate bookkeeping and finance records across systems
- Responding to internal finance queries in a professional and timely manner
- Monitoring finance inboxes and ensuring requests are handled efficiently
- Maintaining accurate data across finance and operational systems
- Assisting the wider finance team with ad hoc operational and administrative tasks when required
- Assisting with month end close processes and reconciliations
- Supporting operational teams with finance related workflows and documentation
- Supporting finance process improvements and automation initiatives
